Three key suspects arrested in Rawalpindi for cutting woman’s hair

Rawalpindi:In a significant breakthrough, Rawalpindi police have arrested three prime suspects linked to a chilling viral video depicting the forcibly cutting of a young woman’s hair.
The central figure in the incident, who was seen cutting the woman’s hair, is reportedly a male accomplice, with a woman also involved in the crime.
The incident, which occurred nearly a month ago, was first reported to the police following the viral video, in which the victim released a video statement.
The case was registered at the Naseerabad police station. Although the incident had not been reported to the Rawalpindi police at the time, the main suspects went into hiding after video went viral on social media.
However, Rawalpindi police, utilizing both technical and human intelligence resources, were able to track down and arrest the key suspects.
City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani stated that the other accomplices and facilitators involved in the crime would also be arrested.
IGP Rizvi meets newly appointed SS Prisons Ali Akbar
Ali Akbar, newly appointed as the first Senior Superintendent of Prisons (SS Prison) for the Federal Prison of Pakistan, held a meeting with Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi to review progress on the Islamabad Model Jail and discuss its early operationalization.
A police spokesperson told APP on Tuesday that significant progress has been made regarding the Islamabad Model Jail following the special directives issued by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. Ali Akbar’s appointment as the first SS Prison marks a major administrative step toward establishing the country’s first federal-level prison facility.
During the meeting, the IG Prisons and the IGP Islamabad issued directions to expedite all processes required to make the Model Jail functional at the earliest. They emphasized that duties must be performed with a reformative approach, keeping in mind the principle: “A saint has a past, and a sinner has a future.”
Once the federal jail becomes operational, all detainees and prisoners linked to Islamabad’s cases will be housed in the Islamabad Model Jail. With this development, there will be no further need to transfer Islamabad-related accused persons to prisons in other districts.
He emphasized that there is no tolerance for violence, abuse, or harassment against women, and that the perpetrators of such acts will not escape justice.
Man arrested for violating sound system Act
Police have arrested a man for violating the Sound System Act during a wedding ceremony in the jurisdiction of Ganjmandi police station here on Tuesday.
Police also seized a variety of equipment from the scene, including the sound system, harmonium, and other musical instruments, according to a police spokesperson.
Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Saad Arshad commended the police team for their swift action and said that suspects will be presented in court with solid evidence.
He emphasized that any individual causing disturbance to the peace and comfort of the public would not escape the law.
He stated that a strict crackdown will be continued against such elements.
