Three Held for Harassing Elderly Woman

Rawalpindi: Nasirabad Police have arrested three men on charges of harassing an elderly woman and assaulting her son, a police spokesperson said on Friday.
According to the complainant, the accused, along with several accomplices, harassed her, physically assaulted her son, and issued threats. Police registered a case and arrested three suspects, while raids are underway to apprehend the remaining accomplices.
The spokesperson said the arrested men will be presented in court with “solid evidence,” adding that the police remain committed to taking prompt action against those involved in such crimes.
Husband Sentenced to Death for Wife’s Murder
A sessions court on Friday sentenced Zohaib Javed to death for murdering his wife during a domestic dispute.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Mirza Aurangzeb announced the verdict after the prosecution successfully proved the charges. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 500,000 on the convict.
According to police, Zohaib Javed killed his wife during an argument and attempted to flee by jumping from the rooftop. He fell, broke his leg, and was arrested in an injured condition. The Ghaziabad Police had registered the murder case in 2024.
Three Kidnapped Men Rescued in Katcha
Muzaffargarh Police, with assistance from Rajanpur’s Umar Kot Police, recovered three kidnapped men after an intense exchange of fire with criminals in Rajanpur’s Katcha area.
DPO Muzaffargarh Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah told reporters on Friday that the victims — Junaid, Mashooq, and Rasheed — were abducted on Oct 8, 2025, by the Zafri Jhabeel–Gumni Gopang gang. He praised the coordinated efforts of both districts’ police teams.
Commenting on another kidnapping case, the DPO said the abduction of Sadiq Hussain Malana, father of Vela Munda, was a planned operation carried out after detailed reconnaissance. The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of Rs 50 million. Forensic evidence also revealed torture videos and links between the suspects and banned militant groups.
He said two federal agencies are assisting the investigation, and a grand operation is under way to arrest the gang members, three of whom have been identified.
DPO Shah added that police have maintained pressure on criminals in the Katcha area and will continue operations to ensure citizens’ safety and uphold state authority.
