Three ANF Personnel Martyred in Shootout with Drug Traffickers

Islamabad: At least three Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) personnel were martyred on Wednesday in a shootout with suspected drug traffickers near the Tarkai Toll Plaza in Jhelum.

According to an ANF Headquarters spokesman, the suspects were traveling on GT Road when they were signaled to stop at the toll plaza.

The smugglers attempted to flee the scene, but after a brief chase, the ANF team managed to intercept them.

The suspects then opened fire on the ANF team, resulting in the martyrdom of three personnel, including Head Constable Gulzar, Lance Naik Mazhar, and a civilian.

A jawan and the civilian lost their lives on the spot, while another jawan was shifted to District Headquarters Hospital, Jhelum, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Naqvi Honors Martyrs

The Interior Minister paid rich tribute to the martyrs, including Head Constable Gulzar and Lance Naik Mazhar, and extended his heartfelt condolences to their families.

He prayed for Allah Almighty to elevate the ranks of the martyrs and grant patience and strength to their loved ones.

Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that the sacrifices of the ANF personnel who gave their lives in the fight against drug traffickers will not be in vain. He stated that those who laid down their lives for the national mission to eradicate the menace of drugs are our true heroes.

He vowed to bring the perpetrators of this incident to justice and underscored that the operation against drug traffickers would continue with full force, as they are the enemies of our future.
