Islamabad: A leading French fashion brand has recently unveiled a minimalist version of its handbag crafted from aerogel, the lightest solid material on the planet. Surprisingly, the handbag weighs only 37 grams.

Each year, the innovative company Koperni introduces a new iteration of its swipe bag, imbuing it with unique and thought-provoking elements. This year, they’ve taken innovation to new heights.

Teaming up with Greek researcher and visual artist Lounis Michaeladis, the French brand embarked on creating the world’s lightest handbag using aerogel.

Silica aerogel stands as the world’s lightest solid material, comprising 99 percent air and a mere one percent glass.

Manufactured within a stainless steel mold, aerogel undergoes a specialized drying process, transforming liquids into glass under specific temperatures and pressures.
