The Holocaust In Palestine
Mohammed Ajeeb
London: The Palestinians, after decades of living under occupation of the Zionist Israel, are abandoned and left on their own to fight for their survival. They are living on daily basis the horrors of the holocaust. Israel, with the support of America and Western Europe, is ruthlessly committed to their expulsion and extermination to realise her dream of greater Israel (Eretz).
Gaza is experiencing an extraordinary and an unprecedented scale of human tragedy. A small occupied nation in helpless position being relentlessly and ruthlessly bombed. Women, children, young and old are indiscriminately being slaughtered without fear of impunity.
By terminating the supply of water, gas , and electricity and by blockading the provision of food and medicines to reach Gaza, the crimes against humanity are being committed by a lawless state while the world stands watching, cajoling the perpetrator or being indifferent to the horrors being unfolded.
The reign of terror against the civilians in Gaza in an open defiance of UNO’s and international laws should be an affront to all the peace-loving people of the world. Yet, Israel continues to do as its pleases with the full support of its backers.
Undoubtedly, ordinary people, all over the globe, are showing their disapproval of the massacre being inflicted on the Palestinians with utmost abomination. Ironically, their concerns are being dismissed with contempt by the Western liberal leaders with claims to democracy, freedom, protection of human life, equality and justice and the Muslim autocratic and monarchs who have become the subservient whores of the West.
Against this backdrop, it is imperative to comprehend the ethos and history of the Western powers, particularly, the United States and Britain, and the basis for their unfettered support for the apartheid state of Israel.
This illegitimate state was conceived by Arthur Balfour the then British Foreign Secretary with the assistance of Barron Rothschild an active Zionist. As a Zionist leader, Walter Rothschild was presented with the Balfour declaration, which pledged British support for a Jewish nation in Palestine. After 30 years, Israel was established as an independent state on 15th May 1948 and recognised by the United Nations whereas Palestine remained comprised of the territories of West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem under the administration of Jordan and Egypt.
In the 1967 war between Egypt and Israel, the Palestinian territories were occupied illegally by Israel. Following this, the Security Council passed the resolutions 242 and 338 which called for withdrawal of Israel from the occupied territories. However, Israel not only ignored these resolutions but continued with its policy of encroachment of the Palestinian land, expelling them forcefully from their homes and replacing these with newly built settlements for Jews. Such grabbing and stealing of land belonging to Palestinians has carried on ever since and continues to be the case now with no questions asked by the international community. This is the worst travesty of justice ever ignored by the great powers who purport to be the guardians of equal and fair application of law and justice for all.
Their real moral personality is in fact associated with plundering and destroying everything they consider detrimental to their interests
The characteristics of the western morality are derived from its history of colonialism and imperialism. It is psychotic and inherited. The moral personality which the western countries present and portray to the world is a mirage and camouflage. Their real moral personality is in fact associated with plundering and destroying everything they consider detrimental to their interests. Hence, their support for Israel’s blatant genocide of Palestinians in Gaza is not surprising. The West was built on genocide, exploitation and slavery whether it was US’s extermination of the native Indians and the enslavement of blacks or the European colonialists exploitation and plundering to dominate the world. Therefore, to expect any sympathy from the rulers of western countries for the illegally occupied and oppressed Palestinians is akin to deception and delusion.
The buzz narrative purporting Israel’s right of self-defence has been constructed and developed by the Zionists and their supporters and presented with force by the partisan Western media determined to mute the critics of Israel. It is preposterous to claim self-defence by Israel while it is the aggressor, usurper, oppressor and the occupier of the Palestine. It has subjected the Palestinians to enslavement, torture, humiliation and dehumanisation for longer than half a century. By any definition, this is a gross mockery of justice, equality and human dignity as we come to be taught.
Palestinians have been pushed to the precipice and are being butchered and slaughtered ruthlessly. They have no option but to use whatever resources and method available to them including unconventional means to fight to defend themselves particularly when the powerful western block is openly siding with the Israeli oppression. THEY ARE JUST FIGHTING THE BATTLE FOR THEIR SURVIVAL.
Even the call by the General Assembly of the United Nations for cease fire and lifting of embargo on food and medicines to reach the starving population of Gaza has been ignored arrogantly by the Israeli government. This not only demonstrate the ruthlessness of the Israel command but a clear indication of the toothless and spineless status of UN that has always acted as the lap dog of America. It is no different this time around.
The role of Muslim countries, to date, has been unclear, ambivalent and non-committal. The use of rhetorical and empty threats by the subdued Muslim rulers is nothing more than to absorb the anger, frustration and rage of their people. Even Iran and Türkiye have limited their comments to condemnation of Israel against her lethal attacks and killing of innocent civilians.
Pakistan being predominantly dependent upon the IMF and World Bank for her economic survival, both the interim government and military establishment have been passively cautious in their reaction to the daily massacre in Gaza.
In Britain, the Conservative controlled government and Labour in opposition have colluded in support of Israel while apportioning the sole blame for this tragic conflict upon Hamas. Nothing unusual or unexpected about British policy as she was responsible for the conception of Jewish state in Palestine in the first place and has been its staunch ally ever since.
In Britain, we are seeing large scale public protests calling upon the government to call an end to the present war. However, British governments never takes publiv protests seriously on issues of wars irrespective of size and scale. It always manages to defend such decisions in the guise of parliamentary democracy. But the opposition Labour Party ,whose core political values are based on fairness, equality, justice and freedom is under pressure from its members and elected representatives including few senior members of its Shadow Cabinet.
The British Muslim community that has been loyal supporter of the Labour Party, is showing dismay and extreme anger with Party’s unconditional support for Israel. In the process many Councillors have already resigned and many more may follow the suit following the public statement by Party’s leader Sir Keir Starmer, himself a self-confessed Zionist, supporting Israel’s right of self-defence even if that means cutting the supply of water, fuel and food to Gaza. Such a totally lopsided and irresponsible statement has generated enormous fury amongst the loyal party voters and supporters and particularly the British Muslims, who have faithfully supported labour over the years.
If the situation continues to deteriorate in Gaza and the Labour Party fails to change its stance by calling for an immediate end to the war in Gaza with restoration of land and rights to Palestinians, it may compromise its chances at the general elections to be held next year.
However, the situation as it stands does not seem in favour of people of Gaza. The enclave in which they have been forced into for saving their lives, is becoming narrower daily. Their hope for any tangible assistance to save them from the continued holocaust is fast fading. The selfish, hypocrite and biased leaders of the western liberal democracies lacking in moral scruples are playing a double game with the lives of Palestinians.
The rulers of their Arab neighbours and kith and kin are not willing to use the weapon of oil which would have demolished the support for Israel. But they neither have the political courage nor acumen to make such decision.
Israel may succeed in expunging the Palestinians from their land but it will not kill their love for it. They will come back and continue to fight for their just cause and this time they may be accompanied by their Arab and non-Arab brothers and sisters to reclaim and repossess their country they are being deprived of to live with dignity and respect. America and her Western allies cannot protect Israel for ever.it must realise that it cannot expect a peaceful future if its behaviour remains belligerent towards Palestinians and Arabs. The possibility of living together in Israel by both Jews and Muslims does no longer exist. The indignation and dehumanisation of Palestinian Muslims by Israel over a long period has contributed to this impossibility. The only viable solution even now at this very late stage is the establishment of Palestinian independent state along the agreed boundaries inclusive of all territories usurped by Israel during 1967 war.
Failing this, this part of the Middle East will always remain the flash point for the possible commencement of 3rd world war which we all must help to avoid.
