Terrorism case filed against TLP chief Saad Rizvi

Muridke: Authorities have registered a terrorism case against Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Saad Rizvi and several senior party leaders following violent clashes with security forces in Muridke.

The First Information Report (FIR), lodged by Sub-Inspector Muhammad Afzal at the City Muridke police station, accuses TLP workers of carrying out violent assaults and other serious crimes. The case includes 32 sections, covering charges of terrorism, murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, and robbery.

According to the FIR, those named in the case include Saad Rizvi, Anas Rizvi, Allama Farooq-ul-Hassan, Maulana Sajjad Saifi, and Mufti Wazir Ali. Police said raids are underway to arrest the accused and warned that no one taking the law into their own hands will be spared.

Crackdown on Misinformation and Provocative Content

Meanwhile, state agencies have intensified a nationwide crackdown on individuals accused of spreading misinformation and inciting unrest under the guise of protests.

Sources told media that several individuals have been identified for running disruptive campaigns on social media platforms including X (Twitter), Facebook, and WhatsApp. A coordinated operation targeting these accounts is expected to begin tonight.

Authorities said the crackdown will cover multiple cities, with over 200 arrests anticipated. Lists of suspects allegedly spreading inflammatory or misleading material have already been compiled.

Special monitoring cells have been directed to trace fake accounts and identify the origins of disinformation, particularly posts aimed at provoking violence or public disorder.

Officials confirmed that law enforcement and intelligence agencies are working round the clock to prevent further unrest, with simultaneous raids planned across major urban centers to ensure swift action against those involved.
