Terror in Transit: PM, President and CM Bugti Condemn Killing of Passengers

Islamabad/Quetta: President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti have strongly condemned the brutal killing of seven bus passengers by terrorists in Barkhan, Balochistan.

In separate statements on Wednesday, the president and prime minister expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident. They prayed for the departed souls and extended condolences to the bereaved families.

President Zardari denounced the attack, calling it a “cowardly and heinous act.” He reaffirmed that “terrorists are enemies of peace and humanity” and assured that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif echoed similar sentiments, directing authorities to take swift action against those responsible. “The killers of innocent citizens will have to pay a heavy price,” he said, emphasizing that the government and security forces remain committed to eradicating terrorism from the country.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti also condemned the “despicable attack” and vowed a strong response. “Such acts of terrorism will not go unpunished. We will ensure those responsible are held accountable,” he asserted.

A spokesperson for the Balochistan government confirmed that security forces, including the Frontier Corps (FC) and Levies, had reached the scene and launched operations to track down the attackers.

Security forces are actively working to restore peace and stability in the region.

Seven Passengers Executed in Balochistan Bus Attack

Barkhan, Balochistan, Feb 19, 2025: Seven passengers were brutally killed in Barkhan after being forcibly removed from a bus traveling from Quetta to Lahore.

According to reports, unidentified assailants set up a checkpoint near the Rarkan area, stopping the bus and checking passengers’ identity cards. After verifying their identities, they executed seven individuals from Punjab on the spot.

The victims have been identified as Muhammad Ishaq, Ashiq Hussain, Asim Ali, Adnan Mustafa, and Muhammad Ajmal. Their bodies were transferred to Rakni Hospital, where an emergency has been declared.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the attack, while security in the region has been heightened.
