Ten news dengue cases reported in Pindi

Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi recorded ten new cases of dengue, bringing the total confirmed cases to 2,597 in the district. Dr Sajjad Mehmood, the District Coordinator for Epidemic Prevention and Control (DCEPC), said that among the new cases, seven reported from Municipal Corporation Rawalpindi (MCR), two from Potohar town urban, and one from Chaklala Cantonment area.

Presently, as many as 50 patients are receiving treatment in district hospitals, with 40 confirmed cases among them. Meanwhile, 2,556 individuals have been discharged after completing their treatment.

Dr Sajjad highlighted that the district administration registered nine FIRs and imposed fines worth Rs 8,000 against violations of dengue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within the last 24 hours.

In the recent indoor surveillance efforts, teams inspected 4,679 houses, discovering larvae in 157 homes. Similarly, outdoor surveillance checked 3,058 locations, revealing larvae at 11 sites.
