Ten Killed, Several Injured in Separate Accidents

Islamabad: At least ten people lost their lives, and several others sustained injuries in two separate road accidents near Kallar Kahar and Quetta on Friday.

In the first incident, a Vehari-bound passenger bus overturned near Kallar Kahar in the Salt Range on the M2 Motorway, resulting in five fatalities and injuring 13 others.

According to the Motorway Police, the accident occurred due to brake failure. Rescue teams and police rushed to the scene, shifting the injured and deceased to the Trauma Centre in Kallar Kahar.

Rescue officials warned that the death toll could rise as some of the injured were in critical condition.

The deceased were identified as Abid, a resident of Sahiwal; Arsalan, son of Maqbool; Ali Raza, son of Abdul Razzaq from Burewala; and Zaheer, son of Mohammad Shahbaz from Pakpattan. One of the victims remains unidentified.

In another tragic accident, five people were killed and several others injured when two passenger buses collided head-on in the Kalat area of Quetta.

According to Levies forces, one bus was traveling from Quetta to Karachi, while the other was en route from Karachi to Quetta. The injured and deceased were shifted to Kalat Hospital for treatment.

Authorities are investigating both incidents, with initial reports suggesting that negligence and mechanical failures played a role in the crashes.
