Telenor Pakistan, Huawei Partner for Next-Gen CBS Upgrade at MWC 2025

Islamabad: Telenor Pakistan and Huawei have signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 to upgrade Telenor Pakistan’s Communication Business Support System (CBS).
The upgrade marks a significant milestone in Telenor Pakistan’s digital transformation journey, enhancing its technological capabilities and operational efficiency, according to a news release received on Wednesday.
Through this collaboration, Telenor Pakistan will implement an advanced CBS to modernize its billing infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration with emerging digital services, real-time data processing, and an improved customer experience. The system upgrade will offer greater stability, flexibility, and efficiency, reinforcing Telenor Pakistan’s position as a leader in telecom innovation.
The agreement was formalized in the presence of Khurrum Ashfaque, CEO of Telenor Pakistan, and Sun Xiaofei, CEO of Huawei Pakistan, underscoring both companies’ commitment to advancing Pakistan’s telecom sector.
Khurrum Ashfaque emphasized the importance of the partnership, stating, “This collaboration with Huawei is a key step in our digital transformation. Upgrading our billing system strengthens our technical capabilities, ensuring a better experience for our customers. By embracing advanced solutions, we aim to drive innovation and stay ahead in the evolving digital landscape.”
Sun Xiaofei expressed Huawei’s commitment, saying, “This agreement deepens our long-standing partnership with Telenor Pakistan. Huawei will provide reliable solutions for a smooth system upgrade and continue supporting long-term technological development.”
