Tech and AI Take Center Stage at ICCI DevFest 2025

Islamabad: The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) hosted the Google Cloud DevFest 2025 on Saturday, focusing on IT development and tech-driven entrepreneurship across Pakistan.

Addressing the event, ICCI Senior Vice President highlighted the role of technology, innovation, and digital transformation as key drivers of the country’s economic future.

He described hosting the DevFest at ICCI as a “proud moment” for the Chamber, reflecting its growing role in promoting Pakistan’s digital and knowledge economy.

He emphasized that cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and automation are reshaping global economies and urged Pakistan to invest in digital capabilities to remain internationally competitive.

The senior official noted that technology is not limited to the IT sector but serves as a powerful enabler across agriculture, manufacturing, retail, logistics, and finance, enhancing efficiency, scalability, and sustainability.

Reaffirming ICCI’s commitment to supporting IT development and tech-driven entrepreneurship, he encouraged developers and students to leverage the knowledge-sharing and networking opportunities offered by the DevFest, which play a vital role in nurturing future innovators.

The Senior Vice President also appreciated the efforts of Dr. Muhammad Usman, Convener ICCI Software Development Committee, and Aizaz Mohammad, Convener ICC IT, Telecom, and Computer Hardware Committee, for organizing the event.

He acknowledged the partnership of Google Developer Group – Cloud Islamabad, which brought global-level learning opportunities to developers, professionals, students, and the business community.

During the day-long event, experts delivered lectures on topics including AI-driven innovation, effective communication in the digital era, breaking organizational silos with unified AI platforms, and the development of secure, agent-oriented AI systems.

Participants, particularly young developers and students, described the DevFest as informative and thought-provoking, expressing confidence that such initiatives would empower them to advance AI technologies and contribute meaningfully to Pakistan’s national development.
