Tampering With Records: DC Dismisses 5 Patwaris, Suspends 11 Others

Peshawar: Deputy Commissioner Peshawar has sacked five patwaris (revenue officers) and the services of 11 others have been put under suspension for tampering with revenue records, non-depositing of taxes, corruption, causing suffering to the public, and subverting official orders.
A case against one Tehsildar, two Naib Tehsildars, and a Gurdawar had been sent to the provincial government for further action. Similarly, disciplinary action would also be initiated against the suspended patwaris.
The district government has stated that any form of blackmail will not be permitted and that Patwaris who are complicit in corruption and the misery of the populace will face stern legal punishment.
On the orders of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary, action has been taken against the corrupt Patwaris in order to purge the provincial capital of corrupt individuals.
