Tamannaah Breaks Silence on Abdul Razzaq Marriage Rumours

Mumbai: Renowned Bollywood actress Tamannaah Bhatia has finally addressed the bizarre and persistent rumours linking her to former Pakistani cricketer Abdul Razzaq, categorically dismissing the speculation as “baseless and embarrassing.”

In a recent interview with an Indian media outlet, Bhatia shed light on how a harmless photograph from a jewellery store event in 2020 spiralled into viral gossip about her alleged marriage to Razzaq. The image, which featured both personalities at a public event, had triggered speculation across social media platforms.

“Mazaak mazaak mein Abdul Razzaq,” she joked, adding, “The internet is a fun place. According to the internet, I was briefly married to Abdul Razzaq.”

The actress went on to express her discomfort over how quickly misinformation spreads online, especially when it involves public figures from across borders. Offering a candid apology to the Pakistani cricketer, she said, “I’m sorry sir. Aapke do teen bachche hain (You have two or three children). I don’t know about your life, but it was so embarrassing.”

Bhatia also acknowledged that this wasn’t the first time she had been falsely linked to a cricketer. Recalling a past rumour, she mentioned her brief association with Indian cricket star Virat Kohli in 2010 after the two appeared together in a commercial.

“I feel so bad because I literally met him for only one day. I have never met Virat after the shoot,” she clarified, putting to rest the decade-old speculation.

Meanwhile, Abdul Razzaq, who last represented Pakistan internationally in 2013, has continued his association with cricket in a coaching role. Earlier this year, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appointed him to lead the Pakistan Strike Force training camp — an initiative launched by Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to hone power-hitting and modern batting skills among domestic and international players.

Both Bhatia and Razzaq have remained tight-lipped about the rumours until now, with the actress’ latest comments bringing much-needed clarity to a long-running internet myth.
