Islamabad: In the 11th match of the T20 World Cup 2024, Pakistan set a target of 160 runs for the United States (US) to chase.
The Group A match, held in Dallas, saw the USA winning the toss and opting to field first.
Pakistan had a rough start, losing their first two wickets for just 14 runs.
Mohammad Rizwan scored 9 runs, while Usman Khan was dismissed for 3 runs.
When the score reached 26 runs, Fakhar Zaman, who had made 11 runs, was caught out attempting a boundary shot.
Captain Babar Azam and Shadab Khan then stabilized the innings with a crucial 72-run partnership off 48 balls.
At a total of 98 runs, Shadab Khan was caught out after an explosive 40-run inning, and Azam Khan was dismissed for a golden duck immediately after.
Babar Azam contributed 27 runs with Iftikhar Ahmed before being dismissed for 44 runs off 43 balls, bringing the total to 125 runs.
Pakistan’s seventh wicket fell when Iftikhar Ahmed, who had scored 18 runs, was also dismissed.
