Swift Police Action Returns Abducted Newborn To Mother

Lahore: In a distressing incident, the in-laws of a woman reportedly took her newborn baby immediately after birth. Swift action by the Virtual Child Safety Centre and the police resulted in the safe return of the baby to the mother.

The incident occurred at Nawaz Sharif Hospital on Multan Road, Lahore.

According to details, a call was made to the Virtual Child Safety Centre reporting the abduction of the newborn. The Centre immediately dispatched police to the hospital. Initial investigations revealed that the woman’s in-laws had assaulted her, thrown her out of their home, and attempted to flee the hospital with the newborn following delivery. The in-laws assured the authorities that they would not harass the woman again.

Safe Cities Spokesman reminded the public that women can contact the Virtual Women Police Station by dialling 15 and pressing 2. Additionally, missing persons can be reported to the Virtual Child Safety Centre through the same emergency number.
