Sweet Dumplings Recipe

Islamabad: Bring home the authentic taste of a classic Middle Eastern dessert! Crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside these sweet dumplings are a perfect treat for any occasion.
Ingredients
For Dumplings:
- Lukewarm water – 1 ½ cups
- Sugar – 1 tbsp
- Yeast – 1 tbsp
- Salt – ½ tsp
- All-purpose flour – 2 ½ cups
For Sugar Syrup:
- Water – 1 cup
- Sugar – 1 cup
- Green cardamoms – 2–3
- Chopped pistachios – for garnish
Directions
- In a bowl, add lukewarm water, sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix well.
- Gradually add flour and whisk until smooth.
- Cover and let the batter rest until it doubles in size.
- Heat oil and deep fry small portions of the batter until golden brown and crispy (about 5–6 minutes). Set aside.
- In a pot, boil water with sugar and green cardamoms until the sugar dissolves and forms a light syrup.
- Pour the warm sugar syrup over the fried dumplings and toss gently.
- Garnish with chopped pistachios.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
