Suspect Arrested in Muzaffargarh Mosque Rape Incident

Islamabad: The local police claimed to have apprehended the individual suspected of being involved in the reported rape of a minor child during Aitekaf at a mosque in Sanawan Bukhi Chowk, Muzaffargarh.
The prompt action was initiated following directives from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who swiftly responded to the incident, leading to the suspect’s immediate arrest.
As per police statements, the suspect allegedly committed the crime against the 13-year-old child on April 2 during Aitekaf.
With the assistance of modern technology, law enforcement was able to locate and apprehend the suspect after filing a case against him, as he had fled the scene after the incident. Both the suspect and the child were participating in Aitekaf at the same mosque.
Footage related to the incident had circulated widely on social media platforms. Subsequent to the arrest, the suspect’s DNA sample has been sent for forensic analysis, while the child underwent a medical examination.
Authorities have asserted that the culprit will face severe punishment following the issuance of an investigation report based on forensic evidence and other relevant findings.
Upon being informed of the incident, CM Maryam Nawaz promptly instructed the Punjab police inspector general to provide a comprehensive report on the matter.
She stressed the importance of ensuring that the perpetrator faces the full force of the law and underscored the necessity of holding accountable those responsible for such reprehensible acts.
Expressing unwavering resolve, Maryam Nawaz reiterated that individuals involved in such despicable actions must be met with severe repercussions.
The incident has evoked widespread outrage and concern among the public, highlighting the pressing need for stricter measures to safeguard vulnerable individuals, particularly children, from exploitation and abuse.
