Sub-Inspector Haroon Succumbs to Injuries After Swabi Operation

Rawalpindi: Sub-Inspector (SI) Haroon Hayat, who was critically injured during an operation in Swabi to recover a kidnapped citizen, tragically passed away on Monday.

A week ago, SI Haroon was injured in a gunfight with kidnappers while taking part in a rescue mission to free Abbas Ali, who had been abducted.

According to a spokesman for the Rawalpindi Police, the sub-inspector sustained severe injuries from the kidnappers’ gunfire and was receiving treatment in a hospital before he succumbed to his wounds.

The police operation led to the arrest of one kidnapper, and Abbas Ali was successfully recovered and reunited with his family.

City Police Officer Syed Khalid Hamdani expressed his condolences, stating that SI Haroon made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. “We stand in solidarity with the family of our fallen colleague during this difficult time,” he said.
