Rawalpindi: Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed in Rawalpindi with a series of events highlighting Indian atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), organized jointly by the Punjab Arts Council Rawalpindi and the All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association (APSMA), District Rawalpindi.
Addressing the concluding ceremony as chief guest, Assistant Commissioner Saddar Rawalpindi Hakim Khan said that Kashmir remains the jugular vein of Pakistan and lamented the non-implementation of United Nations resolutions for decades, which, he said, had deprived the Kashmiri people of their right to self-determination.
He stated that India’s actions, particularly the abrogation of Kashmir’s special status, had led to increased oppression and human rights violations against the Kashmiri people, while Pakistan continued to advocate peace and dialogue. He urged the international community to play an effective role in ensuring freedom for the Kashmiri people.
The event featured an art exhibition depicting Indian atrocities, along with rallies, tableaux, speech competitions and national song contests, reflecting solidarity with the Kashmiri struggle.
In the Speech Competition, Greenland Public School secured first position, followed by New Foundation School, Obaid Public School and AIMS School in second, third and fourth positions respectively.
