Stage Actor Samar Rana Arrested in Rape, Torture Case

Lahore: Lahore police have arrested stage actor Samar Rana on charges of allegedly torturing her 14-year-old domestic worker and facilitating her sexual assault.

According to police, the victim accused five unidentified men of raping her at the actor’s residence, while Rana allegedly subjected her to physical abuse. A case has been registered at Nawab Town police station, and efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the other suspects.

This is not the first time the actor has faced legal trouble. In 2022, she was arrested in Lahore on fraud charges after the Lahore High Court cancelled her bail. At the time, Iqbal Town police took her into custody and shifted her to the women’s cell at Lytton Road Police Station.

Local media reports stated that Rana had been accused of defrauding a citizen of Rs 2.6 million in a property deal, allegedly receiving payment but refusing to vacate the house. She has also previously been booked in multiple fraud-related cases.
