Islamabad: Netflix’s global sensation Squid Game is gearing up for its highly anticipated final season, set to premiere on June 27. The newly released teaser has already set social media alight, garnering over 7 million views in less than 24 hours, signaling the worldwide excitement surrounding the series’ concluding chapter.

Season 3 picks up immediately after the events of Season 2, with Lee Jung-jae reprising his role as Gi-hun. This time, however, Gi-hun enters the deadly game not for financial gain, but driven by a need for revenge and closure. The loss of his closest friend during a failed uprising propels him on a personal mission that could alter the fate of the game forever.

The teaser opens with a chilling scene — Pink Guards placing a coffin in the dormitory. Upon opening it, a bloodied Gi-hun is revealed, his slow eye movements hinting at the perilous and emotionally charged journey ahead.

The enigmatic Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) returns, continuing to manipulate events from behind the scenes. Fans will also see the return of key characters, including detective Jun-ho (Wi Ha-jun) and Pink Guard No-eul (Park Gyu-young), both of whom navigate the game’s dark inner workings in mysterious ways.

New footage teases players drawing red or blue balls, entering labyrinthine arenas, and facing even more lethal challenges. A baby’s cry heard in the trailer hints at the fate of pregnant contestant Jun-hee (Jo Yu-ri).

Additional returning faces include Min-gi (Im Si-wan), Dae-ho (Kang Ha-neul), and Nam-gyu (Noh Jae-won), who are seen in a chilling room featuring a blade and a keyhole-shaped door.

Filmed back-to-back with Season 2, this final season arrives just six months after the previous installment. Since its debut in 2021, Squid Game has shattered viewership records, with Season 2 amassing a staggering 488 million hours watched in its first week alone. The series has also garnered multiple accolades, including six Emmy Awards and the Best Foreign Language Series award at the Critics’ Choice Awards.

As the series nears its conclusion, fans can expect a gripping, visually striking, and emotionally intense finale that will bring the three-year journey to a thrilling close.
