Southern Sindh on Alert for Heatwave Starting May 25
News Desk
Islamabad: The Met Department has issued a heatwave alert for Karachi and the southern districts of Sindh starting May 25, as a low-pressure system in the Arabian Sea is expected to push temperatures higher.
According to Director General Anjum Rizvi, temperatures in Karachi may reach up to 40 degrees Celsius, with the heat feeling three to four degrees hotter due to prevailing weather conditions. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions against the expected heatwave.
This weather system is predicted to affect southern Sindh districts, including Karachi, causing a significant rise in temperatures and increasing the risk of heat-related health issues. However, the coastal belt, including Karachi’s immediate coastal areas, is currently not under direct threat from this system.
The Met Department continues to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates as needed to ensure public safety during this period of intense heat.
