Sonya Opens Up About Missed Bollywood Opportunity with Emraan Hashmi

Islamabad: Renowned film and TV actress Sonya Hussyn recently disclosed that she had been offered a Bollywood project alongside Emraan Hashmi, among other opportunities, but couldn’t pursue them.
In a recent interview with a local media outlet, Hussyn shared that she had received three Bollywood offers, including one with A-list actor Emraan Hashmi.
However, due to circumstances, she couldn’t take up the project, especially as she was relatively young at the time.
“I even had a meeting with the relevant people for that particular project, but then the interaction with India came to a halt,” she explained, alluding to the ban on Pakistani artists working in India after the Uri attack.
Hussyn also mentioned other offers she received, including a Shakespearean screen adaptation of Measure for Measure and a sequel to a classic Santosh Kumar film, though she couldn’t recall its title.
When asked about a Pakistani co-star she’d like to work with in a film, she mentioned, “I haven’t really thought about it, but in terms of films, I find Ali Zafar very charming.
He possesses the charisma of a film hero.”
She further elaborated, “There are several contenders for a film hero. Fawad Khan also exudes charm, but in terms of acting, I would lean towards Ali Zafar.”
On television, Hussyn was last seen portraying the lead role of Noor in ARY Digital’s drama serial ‘Tere Bina Mein Nahi,’ alongside Shehzad Sheikh and Aiza Awan.
