Islamabad: Pakistan joined the world on Sunday in celebrating Mother’s Day, with citizens expressing heartfelt appreciation for their mothers through emotional digital posts, thoughtful gestures, and special moments.

Social media platforms were flooded with touching messages, photos, and videos paying tribute to mothers for their unconditional love, tireless sacrifices, and central role in shaping families and communities.

According to a media report aired on a private news channel, children across Pakistan marked the occasion with gratitude, presenting gifts, organizing surprise celebrations, and spending quality time with their mothers.

The streets buzzed with activity as people thronged bakeries, flower shops, and gift stores. “I’ve planned a surprise party for my mom with her favorite cake and flowers. She deserves all the love and appreciation,” shared a resident of Karachi.

A mother of two expressed her joy: “I am overwhelmed with love and appreciation from my children. It’s a special day that makes me feel truly cherished.”

Businesses also participated in the celebration. Sweet Treats Bakery in Islamabad announced discounts on bulk cake orders for Mother’s Day events. “We want to make this day special for all the mothers out there,” a staff member said.

In Karachi, flower shop owners reported high demand for roses, carnations, and lilies. “We are working overtime to meet the surge in orders for Mother’s Day bouquets,” said one shop owner.

Popular brands across Pakistan also marked the occasion with exclusive deals and promotional offers to honor mothers. “It’s heartening to see brands celebrating the role of mothers with special discounts,” said a shopper at a mall in Islamabad.

Beyond celebrations, some citizens marked the day with solemn visits to graveyards to pay respects to mothers who have passed away. “I came to my mom’s grave to offer prayers and flowers. It’s my way of showing her that I still love and miss her,” shared a visitor in Rawalpindi.

Another citizen posted on Instagram: “Visiting my mom’s grave on Mother’s Day helps me remember the sacrifices she made. I will always cherish the memories we created together.” A similar post on Facebook described such visits as a “poignant reminder of the enduring bond between mothers and their children—even in death.”

Mother’s Day in Pakistan served not only as a celebration of love but also as a moment of reflection on the immeasurable contributions of mothers to families and society.
