Smog Alert Issued as Dry Weather Continues

Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly dry weather conditions over most parts of the country on Wednesday, while hilly areas are likely to experience cold weather during the morning and night hours.
According to the Met Office, the ongoing dry spell and rising atmospheric pollution are expected to keep several districts in eastern Punjab under the influence of smog. Citizens have been advised to take precautionary measures to protect themselves from potential health hazards.
In Islamabad, the weather will remain dry with a noticeable chill during the morning and night.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, dry conditions are likely to prevail across most districts, while the upper hilly regions will experience colder temperatures at night and early morning.

For Punjab, dry weather is expected in most areas, including Murree, Galiyat, and adjoining regions, with cold mornings and nights. However, smog is likely to persist in Lahore, Gujranwala, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Okara, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Khanewal, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, and Multan.
Sindh is expected to remain hot and dry in most districts, while southeastern and coastal areas may experience partly cloudy conditions.
In Balochistan, dry weather will dominate, with cold conditions likely in northern parts during the morning and night hours.
Meanwhile, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to experience cold and dry weather.
During the past 24 hours, dry weather prevailed across most parts of the country, while smog continued to affect eastern districts of Punjab.
The highest maximum temperatures recorded were 38°C in Turbat and Lasbela, followed by 37°C in Pasni and Ormara.
