Six SHOs Suspended Over Corruption Allegations

Peshawar: Six Station House Officers (SHOs) of Peshawar police, along with two other officials, have been suspended on charges of corruption and links with criminal elements.
According to a spokesperson for Peshawar police on Sunday, the suspended SHOs were posted at Pahari Pura, Faqirabad, Hashtnagri, Pishtakhara, Western, and Khazana police stations. The in-charge of Jehangirabad police post and a junior clerk were also removed from duty.
The spokesperson further stated that six Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) from Pishtakhara, Town, Faqirabad, Hashtnagri, Gulbahar, and Regi circles have been served show-cause notices over poor supervision.
In addition, 11 SHOs, including those of Tatara, Hayatabad, Eastern, Gulberg, Sarband, Kotwali, Bhana Mari, Daudzai, Chamkani, Mathra, and Badaber police stations, were issued show-cause notices for unsatisfactory performance.
Meanwhile, SHO Matni, Wajid Khan, was awarded a certificate of appreciation for outstanding performance.
Addressing a meeting at the Capital City Police Office, CCPO Peshawar, Mian Saeed, reiterated that there is no place for corrupt elements in Peshawar police. He stressed that officers and personnel showing exemplary performance would be encouraged and rewarded at every level.
