Six Arrested for Price Violations in Islamabad

Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration ramped up price and quality inspections across Sunday markets in Islamabad, following an increase in shopping activity.

District officials, led by Assistant Commissioners and Price Control Magistrates, conducted inspections to enforce official rate lists.

During an inspection by Assistant Commissioner (AC) Pothohar Aneeq Anwar, accompanied by a magistrate, six shopkeepers were arrested for overpricing.

The administration has made it clear that Assistant Commissioners are assigned to monitor prices across all markets, and Price Control Magistrates will remain available to address any violations.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon emphasized the importance of enforcing official pricing and urged citizens to report any violations promptly. The ICT administration continues to strengthen its efforts to safeguard consumer rights and maintain fair pricing in local markets.
