Lahore: Around 170 Sikh pilgrims (Yatrees) who had arrived in Lahore to attend the 417th martyrdom day of Guru Arjan Dev Ji (Jore Mela) returned to their homeland, India, on Saturday through the Wagah border crossing.

Sikh Yatrees Party Leader Sardar Gurbachan Singh stated that the love they received in Pakistan was the most priceless gift for them. Singh also said that when the pilgrims returned to their homeland, they would share that love with others.

Additional Secretary Shrines Rana Shahid stated that people wanted to interact with each other on both sides of the border. “Humanity’s respect takes precedence,” he added.

“Whether they were Hindu pilgrims or Sikh adherents, the Pakistani government is dedicated to issuing the maximum number of religious visas,” pledged the additional secretary.

Rana Shahid further stated that the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) is responsible for the restoration and upkeep of historic religious sites and temples. He stressed the boards’ efforts to guarantee improved gurdwara and temple maintenance.

“All minorities residing in Pakistan are protected, and they enjoy all constitutional rights and religious freedoms,” assured Pakistan Sikh GurdwaraParbandhak Committee (PSGPC) PardhanSardar Amir Singh.

Indian Sikh pilgrims also chanted slogans of Pakistan Zindabad.
