News Desk
ISLAMABAD: City Police Officer (Operations) Syed Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari has directed all station house officers (SHOs) to disclose their assets in order to ensure a professional attitude in policing affairs.
The meeting was chaired by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Dr Akbar Nasir Khan.
Police officers across the country, especially SHOs, face allegations of corruption because of the unlimited powers they enjoy as heads of police stations.
The CPO stated that in order to deal with criminal elements, especially proclaimed offenders, both current and past SHOs should collaborate and develop a clear action plan.
Also, he instructed the investigators to visit with the complainants and update them on the status of their investigations. He stated that each officer’s weekly performance would be evaluated.
Nadeem Bukhari stated that all branches of the operations division should ensure biometric attendance and maintain the cleanliness of the police stations. He also gave instructions for improving the effectiveness of the patrolling system.
Meanwhile, IGP Islamabad reviewed the performance of each police officer and said that all officers should adopt comprehensive strategies to prevent crime in their respective areas. Safe city monitoring should be implemented at the police station level to help SHOs trace criminal elements at the earliest possible time, he added.
