Shopkeeper Shot Dead In Peshawar, SSP (Ops) Vows To Catch Assailants

Peshawar: Unidentified armed attackers riding on a bike on Friday killed a shopkeeper Diyal Singh, while he was sitting in his shop at Dir Colony, in the jurisdiction of Rahman Baba police station.
According to the police sources, unknown armed persons targeted Singh with a pistol and fled from the scene. As a result, Diyal Singh died on the spot. The police reached the scene and collected evidence while the body was shifted to the hospital.
The police registered a case and launched an investigation into the killing, but no arrests have been made so far.
Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Haroon Khan visited the residence of Diyal Singh on Friday and met with his grieving family members.
SSP Harron Khan offered his sympathies and reassurance to the family of the deceased during their meeting, assuring them that the police are making every effort to find the offenders. He said that a special team has been assembled to investigate the case and that they are following multiple leads.
The SSP (Operations) stated, “We are deeply saddened by the loss of Diyal Singh, and we share the grief of his family and the Sikh community. We are determined to catch the killers and bring them to justice as soon as possible.”
He also promised to offer security for the local Sikh community and urged people to come forward with any information that could aid the police in their inquiry.
In another incident, a person named Sher Alam opened fire at his mother and wife in the Methara area after exchanging harsh arguments and escaped from the scene; however, both of the ladies survived by the bullet injuries.
