Shock in Colombo: Sri Lanka Drop Test Captain de Silva
News Desk
Colombo: Sri Lanka on Monday dropped Test captain Dhananjaya de Silva from their 15-man T20 World Cup squad led by Dasun Shanaka.
De Silva, who was recalled for a three-match T20 series against Pakistan last month after an 18-month absence, played the opening game against England in the ongoing series.
However, he was dropped for the second T20, with the final match scheduled for Tuesday.
Since his return, de Silva has scored just 43 runs in three innings and taken one wicket with his off-spin. In the recent match against England at Pallekele, he managed 11 runs off 12 balls before being dismissed by Adil Rashid.
