Sheikhupura Hospital Scandal: Six Medical Staff Suspended Over Viral Video

Sheikhupura: At least Six medical officials, among them two doctors, faced suspension after a video from the operation theater of Sheikhupura district headquarters hospital (DHQs) went viral.

The CEO of the District Health Authority took action, suspending the medical staff and doctors.

The dispute arose between Consultant Dr Waqqas and a female doctor regarding the operation list. It was the responsibility of the female doctor to administer anesthesia to the patient prior to the operation.

However, instead of the designated female doctor, the patient received anesthesia from a non-medical staff member of the operation theater.

The video depicting an untrained employee administering anesthesia to a patient gained widespread attention.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has taken notice of the incident and ordered inquiry into the matter.
