Pakistan Champions captain Mohammad Hafeez won the toss and elected to bat first. The innings got off to a shaky start as Kamran Akmal was dismissed early by Hardus Viljoen in the third over. Hafeez himself fell in the sixth over to Wayne Parnell, putting Pakistan under pressure.

However, Sharjeel Khan counter-attacked brilliantly, smashing a quickfire 76 to keep the scoreboard ticking. His aggressive knock laid a solid foundation before he too was dismissed by Viljoen.

At the latest update, Pakistan Champions have lost three wickets but remain on track for a competitive total.
