Sharing Warmth

Asem Mustafa Awan: The bone-chilling cold has made the kittens sit close to the comfort of the heater, and they are doing it because the fear factor is missing. The photographer Malik Sajjad captured the two kittens in a perfect moment of enjoying the warmth.

Credit also goes to the individual who, unlike most, is not shooing away the cats and this goes further; as with his action, it is presumed he is caring and believes in sharing.

Animals are blessed with a unique sense, and that is inbuilt in their instincts as they don’t go near people who harbour ill will towards them; while at the same time, they cuddle with those who just happen to be there.

The devastating earthquake in Turkey that claimed thousands of lives also witnessed a feline being rescued from the rubble, and that’s not all; people in Turkey have a special soft spot for cats and many shelters have been built at different places for these felines that are loved and adore in the Turkish culture.

The cat falling from stadium roof was saved by the spectators and the video of the rescue went viral by the caring few had the whole stand cheering up as the endeavour was a success.

Similarly, during the World Cup, the press manager of the Brazilian team was criticised for ejecting the cat during the press conference of Brazil’s Vinicius Jr.

This scribe lost his cat, ‘Screamer alias Bugga’, not long ago, who was always there to greet him as he returned from work late at night.

Bugga is missed as he had an eventful life and shared many moments.

Every cat has a personality of its own; some are very naughty, while others possess all the traits of regality and need pampering all the time.

These small felines seek special attention in Pakistan, as there are not many shelters there and people in general tend to keep away from cats for fear of a scratch.
