Sharif Family Celebrates Junaid Safdar’s Nikah in Lahore

Lahore: The Sharif family marked a significant personal milestone on Saturday as Junaid Safdar, son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, married Shanzeh Ali in a nikah ceremony held in Lahore, drawing together senior political figures and close relatives from across the country.
The bride, Shanzeh Ali, is the granddaughter of senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rohail Asghar, further strengthening familial ties within the party’s inner circle.The nikah was solemnised by the sajjada nashin of the shrine of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani, while the bride’s consent was obtained by Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology, Mufti Raghib Hussain Naeemi.
For the ceremony, Junaid Safdar appeared in an ivory sherwani paired with a gold-toned turban, while the bride wore a traditional pink ensemble adorned with jewellery, reflecting a blend of elegance and tradition.
The event saw a notable gathering of political leadership, including PML-N President and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Hamza Shehbaz, Salman Shehbaz, Hussain Nawaz, Hassan Nawaz, along with senior party leaders and foreign guests. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif attended alongside close family members.

Wedding celebrations are set to continue with the valima ceremony scheduled for Sunday at the Jati Umra Farms, where approximately 800 guests have been invited. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, federal and provincial ministers, prominent political figures and international guests are expected to attend the reception.
The festivities began earlier with a mehndi ceremony on Friday at Jati Umra, attended by close family and friends. On the occasion, Junaid Safdar wore a deep navy-blue traditional kurta with golden buttons, complemented by a golden-brown shawl.
The marriage marks a new chapter for Junaid Safdar, whose previous marriage in 2021 ended in separation in 2023.
