Islamabad: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 14-member Pakistan Shaheens squad for the upcoming 50-over series against Bangladesh A, set to begin on August 26 at the Islamabad Club.
The series will feature three matches, with the second and third games scheduled for August 28 and 30, respectively.
Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris will lead the squad, which retains 12 players from the recent tour of Darwin, Australia. This approach aligns with the selectors’ goal of providing emerging and domestic players with consistent opportunities.
The retained players include Abdul Faseeh, Arafat Minhas, Faisal Akram, Haseebullah, Jahandad Khan, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Mohammad Imran Jnr, Mubasir Khan, Omair Bin Yousuf, and Usman Khan. They are joined by left-arm spinner Mehran Mumtaz and left-hand batter Azan Awais.
During the Darwin tour, the Shaheens excelled, winning seven of nine white-ball games. They secured victories over Northern Territory Strike and Bangladesh A in the 50-over matches. In the Top End T20 series, the Shaheens led the table with five wins from six games before losing in the semi-final.
Key performers from the tour included Jahandad Khan, who took 15 wickets, Usman Khan with 222 runs, and Muhammad Irfan Khan, who scored a century in the Top End T20 series.
