Shaheen Afridi Teases What Fans Can Expect From PSL 11

Islamabad: Shaheen Afridi, captain of the Lahore Qalandars, has described the past four to five years in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as highly successful for the team, highlighting the development of local talent and the team’s growing contribution to national cricket.

Speaking during the ongoing team camp in Islamabad, Afridi explained that Lahore Qalandars conducts camps well ahead of the PSL season to give new players a chance to integrate, understand team dynamics, and prepare for the tournament.

“The last four to five years in the PSL have been very good for us. It is not only about winning trophies,” Afridi said. “The real success has been bringing forward talented local players from trials held across the country. Many of these players have progressed to national and regional levels, which is a major achievement for Lahore Qalandars.”

Afridi added that the current camp has also uncovered promising talent. “We hope to identify one or two standout players for this PSL season, while several others may develop into top performers over the next ten years,” he said.

Looking ahead to PSL 11, Afridi noted that the team has welcomed several new players, including foreign recruits, and matches will be held at new venues. He expressed optimism that the expanded fan engagement and fresh talent will enhance the excitement and entertainment value of the upcoming season.

Lahore Qalandars’ focus on scouting and nurturing local talent continues to position the franchise as a key contributor to Pakistan’s cricketing future, while also maintaining a competitive presence in the PSL.
