Seven Feared Affected in Jharkhand Air Ambulance Crash
News Desk
Islamabad: An evening medical evacuation flight ended in tragedy scare on Monday after an air ambulance carrying seven people crashed in India’s eastern state of Jharkhand, prompting a swift regulatory and rescue response.
According to India’s aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the Beechcraft C90 aircraft had taken off from Ranchi at 7:11 pm local time on a scheduled medical transport mission. Shortly after departure, the crew requested a route deviation due to adverse weather conditions.
Communication with the aircraft was subsequently lost, along with radar contact, raising alarm among air traffic authorities. The plane was operated by Redbird Airways and was carrying five passengers in addition to two crew members.

Emergency response teams were immediately dispatched to the last known location of the aircraft. Search and rescue personnel have reached the crash site, while officials from the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau are being sent to begin a formal investigation into the cause of the accident.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether there were any survivors or casualties, and further details are awaited as rescue operations continue.
The incident has once again drawn attention to the risks associated with night-time and weather-affected medical flights, particularly in regions prone to rapidly changing atmospheric conditions.
