Senate Panel Summons CDA Chief Over Lodges Issues

News Desk

Islamabad: The Senate Sub-Committee on Parliamentary Lodges on Friday expressed dissatisfaction over the delay in completing the model apartment, despite clear directions issued in its previous meeting held on October 15, 2025.

The meeting, chaired by Senator Nasir Mehmood, visited the site of the new Parliamentary Lodges to inspect the model apartment, the design of which had earlier been shared by the Capital Development Authority (CDA).

During the site visit, members pointed out several design and quality issues in the partially completed apartment. The CDA authorities and the contractor were directed to address these shortcomings and ensure completion of the model apartment by October 30, 2025, in accordance with the approved design.

The sub-committee scheduled its next meeting for the same date to review on-site progress. It emphasized that the quality of work must be maintained and that the new lodges project should be completed within the stipulated timeframe.

The committee also directed the CDA Chairman to personally attend the next meeting and brief members on previously raised concerns.

Furthermore, the Senate body expressed strong displeasure over the CDA’s failure to submit the Technical Committee’s inquiry report regarding works carried out in the existing lodges, despite repeated directions and prior commitments.
