Security Cabins Blocking Roads, Footpaths Removed in Islamabad
News Desk
Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration on Wednesday removed 29 security cabins installed outside houses in sectors F-6, F-7 and G-11/3 as part of an ongoing anti-encroachment drive.
The operation was carried out by the Assistant Commissioner City and Assistant Commissioner Shalimar on the directives of the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad.
Officials said the action targeted security cabins illegally placed on public land outside residential properties. These structures were found encroaching on footpaths, roads and other public spaces, causing obstruction to pedestrians and traffic.
Teams from the district administration inspected streets in the three sectors and identified cabins installed without approval. In several cases, the cabins were erected near gates or boundary walls and extended into public land. Machinery and manpower were deployed to dismantle and remove the structures.

According to officials, a total of 29 security cabins were removed during the operation. They said the action was carried out without discrimination, and in some cases prior notices had already been issued. The administration clarified that no private property was damaged and only illegal encroachments were removed.
The Deputy Commissioner Islamabad had earlier directed all assistant commissioners to take strict action against unauthorized structures on public land, including security cabins, barriers and other obstructions outside houses. Following these instructions, inspections have been intensified in various sectors of the federal capital.
An official said the drive aims to maintain order in residential areas and ensure unhindered access to public spaces. He added that the installation of security cabins outside homes without permission is not allowed as it creates difficulties for pedestrians, emergency services and routine traffic.
The administration advised residents to remove such structures voluntarily to avoid enforcement action, warning that strict measures will continue against violations. Officials said the anti-encroachment drive will be expanded to other sectors in the coming days and urged citizens to cooperate and comply with building and land-use regulations.
