Section 144 Imposed in Murree for Three Days
News Desk
Rawalpindi: Authorities have enforced Section 144 in Murree for three days, restricting access to the Mall Road area exclusively for tourist families. The measure, aimed at managing heavy footfall during the peak holiday season, will remain in effect from August 12 to August 14.
Announcing the decision, the Deputy Commissioner of Murree said the move is intended to ensure public safety and smooth visitor flow during the Independence Day holiday rush.
Officials have warned that violations of Section 144 will invite strict legal action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which carries penalties including fines and possible imprisonment.
Police and administration teams will be deployed on-site to monitor compliance and assist families visiting the area.
