Rawalpindi: The Murree District Administration has imposed Section 144 across the district from August 17 to September 15, 2025, in response to the threat of a dengue epidemic.

According to a notification, the public has been warned of legal action for violating Section 144 and urged to cooperate by adopting precautionary measures against dengue.

In line with the administration’s directions, mosque imams highlighted the anti-dengue campaign in Friday sermons, advising citizens not to allow water to stagnate in homes or offices, to keep storage containers, tanks and drums covered, and to avoid dumping garbage in public places.

Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi, while chairing a special meeting of the District Emergency Response Committee at Rural Health Centre Phagwari, instructed officials to intensify awareness efforts. He stressed the need to eliminate stagnant water, use mosquito nets, wear full clothing, and adopt other preventive steps to curb mosquito bites and the breeding of larvae.

The DC also directed Health Department teams to ensure timely mosquito spray and fogging activities, particularly in remote areas of the district.
