Section 144 Imposed in Islamabad; Public Gatherings Banned

Islamabad: The district administration has enforced Section 144 in the federal capital, declaring all forms of public gatherings unlawful to maintain law and order.

An official said on Sunday that under Section 144, any assembly, protest, demonstration, or gathering would be considered illegal and could result in strict legal action. Citizens have been advised to avoid participating in crowds or public assemblies.

Authorities warned that any violation would be dealt with in accordance with the law without discrimination. The administration urged residents to cooperate with law enforcement agencies to ensure peace and stability in the capital.

DIG Reviews Security During Sehri, Taraweeh

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Islamabad Police Muhammad Jawad Tariq, accompanied by SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza, conducted a citywide review of security arrangements during Sehri and Taraweeh hours.

The DIG visited sensitive locations, including mosques and key security points, to assess preparedness during early morning and late-night prayer timings. He met officers deployed on duty and directed them to maintain heightened vigilance during peak religious hours.

Special security measures have been put in place at mosques and imambargahs to ensure peaceful observance of Sehri, Taraweeh, and other Ramazan-related activities.

DIG Tariq emphasized strict monitoring, effective patrolling, and maximum field presence, reiterating that Islamabad Police remain fully committed to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens throughout the holy month of Ramazan.

ICT Police Arrest 31 in Crackdown; Drugs, Weapons Seized

Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police arrested 31 accused during multiple operations across the federal capital and recovered narcotics, liquor, and illegal weapons.

Police teams from Karachi Company, Shalimar, Golra, Sangjani, Industrial Area, Humak, Nilore, Bhara Kahu, and Shahzad Town police stations conducted coordinated actions against criminal elements.

Seventeen suspects were apprehended in routine and targeted operations. Recovered items included 110 grams of hashish, 145 grams of heroin, 421 grams of ice, 210 bottles of liquor, and 10 pistols with ammunition.

Cases have been registered against the accused, and investigations are underway. During a special campaign against proclaimed offenders and absconders, seven more suspects wanted in various cases were also arrested.

SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza said the crackdown against criminal elements would continue to ensure law and order in the federal capital, adding that the force remained committed to protecting citizens and maintaining public peace.
