Second Sequel of Controversial ‘Dhurandhar’ Announced

News Desk

Islamabad: The makers of Dhurandhar, one of Bollywood’s most talked-about  and controversial films, have officially announced a second sequel with the release of a teaser revealing the film’s title.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the franchise stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role, alongside Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, and Akshaye Khanna. The teaser, released earlier on Tuesday by Jio Studios, confirms that Singh will reprise his role as Hamza Ali in the upcoming installment.

The new film has been titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge and is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026.

However, the teaser has drawn mixed reactions online. Several social media users pointed out that the footage used in the teaser appears to be reused from the concluding scenes of the first film, criticizing the lack of new visuals or fresh content in the announcement.

Dhurandhar was among the most controversial Hindi films of 2025, sparking widespread debate, particularly among Pakistani social media users, who accused the film of promoting a propaganda-driven narrative.

The action thriller is set against the backdrop of Karachi’s Lyari gang wars and centers on an Indian spy, portrayed by Ranveer Singh. The storyline references several real-life figures associated with Lyari, including Rehman Dakait, Major Iqbal, and SP Chaudhary Aslam, portrayed by Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, and Sanjay Dutt, respectively.

Despite the controversy, the franchise continues to generate strong public interest, with the announcement of Dhurandhar: The Revenge keeping the film firmly in the spotlight.
