Scattered Rain, Humid Weather Prevail in Lahore

Lahore: Scattered rain coupled with humid conditions lashed the provincial capital on Sunday, bringing brief relief to citizens, while the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast similar weather over the next 24 hours.

Rain was reported in several localities across the city. According to MET officials, a seasonal low lies over north Balochistan, with strong monsoon currents from the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea penetrating the upper and central parts of the country. A westerly wave is also influencing most northern areas.

The forecast predicts rain-wind/thundershowers in Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, northeastern and eastern Punjab, and the Potohar region, with chances of isolated heavy falls in upper KP, Kashmir, and northeastern Punjab during the night. Southeast Sindh may also receive isolated rain-wind/thundershowers, while hot and humid weather is likely to prevail in other parts of the country.

Rainfall was recorded in various cities, with Dalbandin experiencing the day’s highest temperature at 43°C. Lahore recorded a maximum of 34°C.
