Saudi Arabia Applauded for Flawless Execution of Hajj 2025 Arafat Ritual

Islamabad: Saudi authorities have received widespread praise for their effective management of Hajj 2025, as more than 1.67 million pilgrims completed the pivotal Day of Arafat on Thursday without any significant security or health incidents.
Prince Saud bin Mishaal, Deputy Emir of the Makkah Region and Vice Chairman of the Permanent Hajj and Umrah Committee, attributed the smooth proceedings to the Kingdom’s comprehensive service system and strategic planning.
“Pilgrims were transported from Makkah and Mina to Arafat in record time through efficient and flexible plans — with no security breaches or epidemic outbreaks reported, all by the grace of God,” Prince Saud said while addressing the media from Arafat.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah confirmed that the movement of pilgrims to Mount Arafat on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah went according to schedule, marking another milestone in this year’s Hajj. The operation was managed under a unified operational framework coordinated by the Joint Operations and Dispatching Center — a newly implemented model for Hajj 1446.
Pilgrims were transported using modern buses and the Mashair Train, adhering to strict timetables and high-security protocols. Crowd management was significantly enhanced by artificial intelligence tools that monitored real-time data, predicted congestion, and redirected pilgrim groups as needed. A round-the-clock operations center, supported by a network of smart surveillance cameras, enabled swift coordination across all relevant agencies.
Additionally, the digital “Nusuk” card — linked with the “Nusuk” and “Tawakkalna” platforms — was used to track pilgrim movements via QR codes, facilitating greater punctuality and oversight at the holy sites.
The Kingdom’s Hajj strategy included readiness simulations, scenario-based planning, and close coordination among multiple agencies — forming the core of a sustainable and digitally advanced operational model.
In a notable achievement, the Ministry of Health reported a 90% drop in heat exhaustion cases compared to last year. This reduction was credited to proactive preventive measures, extensive awareness campaigns, and tight inter-agency coordination. These efforts align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, particularly the Health Sector Transformation Program and the Pilgrim Experience Program.
Prince Saud extended his thanks to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for dedicating vast resources to ensuring the comfort and safety of pilgrims. He also commended Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif for overseeing operational execution and praised the commitment of security personnel, volunteers, and service providers.
“As you continue your noble mission, know that we are proud of you,” Prince Saud stated.
Following the successful completion of the Day of Arafat, pilgrims have begun their journey to Muzdalifah, before continuing to Mina for the symbolic stoning ritual — as Hajj 2025 progresses under Saudi Arabia’s sophisticated, technology-driven management system.
