Sarwat Gilani Reveals Behind-The-Scenes Misconduct of Humayun

Islamabad: Renowned Pakistani actress Sarwat Gilani has made shocking revelations about her unpleasant experiences working with superstar Humayun Saeed and acclaimed director Nadeem Baig during the making of the blockbuster film series ‘Jawani Phir Nahi Aani’.

In a candid interview, the actress accused the duo of unprofessional behavior and lack of respect, sharing that she was sidelined despite her strong contribution to the franchise’s success.

Gilani disclosed that her role in the first installment was cut short without prior notice, leaving her disheartened. When approached for the sequel, she initially declined but eventually agreed after Nadeem Baig promised her a more complete character arc — a promise she says was never fulfilled.

“Unfortunately, my role was again reduced in ‘Jawani Phir Nahi Aani 2’, and I wasn’t treated well during its promotions either,” she said, adding that she was excluded from the film’s London promotional tour despite having booked her own tickets. 

“The schedule wasn’t even shared with me. I found out later that the entire team had already left,” she revealed.

Expressing her disappointment, Sarwat stated, “They only remember me when they need work. Once the project is done, they forget I exist.” 

She emphasized that she would no longer tolerate such treatment and has refused to return for the third installment of the hit franchise. “I cannot let my dignity be compromised anymore. I want equal respect and a rightful place for my character,” she declared.

Despite her criticism, the Churails actress maintained that she still holds personal respect for both Saeed and Baig, but made it clear that her decision is final.

The Jawani Phir Nahi Aani series, released in 2015 and 2018 respectively, remains one of Pakistan’s biggest film successes, featuring an ensemble cast including Humayun Saeed, Vasay Chaudhry, and Ahmad Ali Butt.

Gilani’s portrayal of a witty Pathan woman married to Vasay Chaudhry’s character was widely praised for its humor and chemistry. However, her latest revelations have now cast a shadow over the highly anticipated third part of the film series.
