Sargodha’s Thalassemia Centre Hosts Inclusive Event

Sargodha: The Hilal-e-Ahmar Thalassemia and Haemophilia Centre in Sargodha recently organized an event titled ‘Thalassemia Safe Pakistan.’
Child patients from the Sargodha district and division suffering from thalassemia and hemophilia were specially invited to attend.
During the event, children with thalassemia presented a touching tableau that garnered praise from the audience.
Among the distinguished guests were well-known businessmen and philanthropists, including Rao Suleman, Sheikh Farooq Wohra, and Sheikh Safdar, who is the In-Charge of Police Khidmat Center. Ghulam Mustafa Mirza, the coordinator for the Thalassemia and Haemophilia Center, actively participated in the ceremony.
The center’s staff and workers were recognized and appreciated with shields during the event. Ghulam Mustafa Mirza expressed gratitude to the police department for their support, noting that nearly 4,000 blood bags had been donated to thalassemia and hemophilia patients through camps organized by the police in the district.
Speakers emphasized the importance of pre-marital thalassemia testing as the primary solution to combating this deadly disease.
Sheikh Safdar, the In-Charge of Police Protection, highlighted the significant financial burden of thalassemia treatment but commended the efforts of the Hilal-e-Ahmar Thalassemia and Haemophilia Centre in assisting these children through self-help initiatives and the cooperation of local traders.
