Islamabad: Pakistan’s T20I captain, Salman Ali Agha, has praised his team’s remarkable performance, especially the contributions from the younger players.
“This match was crucial for us, and the young players delivered brilliantly,” Salman said during the post-match press conference in Auckland on Friday.
He emphasized the importance of supporting young players to get the best out of them.
“When you back the youngsters, they perform well, just like today. A score of 200 is a standard total on this wicket, and I told the team that if we bat well, we can chase it down.”
Salman also highlighted the excellent batting conditions on the pitch and credited the bowlers for keeping New Zealand to 200 runs.
“The overall performance was outstanding, and now we are fully focused on the next match,” he added.
In a tense contest, Pakistan secured a dominant nine-wicket victory over New Zealand in the third T20I in Auckland, chasing down a challenging 205-run target in just 16 overs.
