Sajjad Ali Brings 90s Magic Alive at Karachi Festival

Karachi: Legendary Pakistani singer Sajjad Ali turned the 23rd day of the World Culture Festival at the Arts Council of Pakistan into a nostalgic extravaganza, reviving the golden era of 90s music for thousands of fans.

The concert drew massive crowds, with many fans left outside after the venue reached full capacity, eager to witness the iconic performer live. The audience erupted in applause as Sajjad Ali stepped on stage, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening.

He delivered a soulful performance of his evergreen hits, including ‘Har Zulm Tera Yaad Hai’, ‘Yaad To Aati Hogi’, ‘Ravi’, ‘Mahiwal’, and ‘Dheere Dheere Aa Badal’, rekindling memories for long-time fans while introducing younger audiences to his timeless melodies.

Responding to the crowd’s energy, he also performed fan favourites Chief Saab and Cinderella, further elevating the atmosphere.

Speaking to the audience, Sajjad Ali reflected on his journey: “I am Pakistani, I love Pakistan, and this country has given me respect.” He added, “People once told me some of my songs didn’t match trends, but an artist creates trends, not follows them,” highlighting his enduring impact on the music industry.

Celebrated since the 1980s for blending classical depth with modern pop sensibilities, Sajjad Ali remains one of Pakistan’s most influential singers, composers, and songwriters, with music that continues to resonate across generations.

The World Culture Festival at the Arts Council of Pakistan in Karachi will continue until December 7, promising more performances that celebrate Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage.
